Well...we didn't mean to create a blogspot, but in being determined to comment on Miss Hannah's cute pumpkin picture, here we are! So, I guess you just enter what one has been up to?????
Last week, David had a conference in Atlanta and I went along for the ride. We had a great time! I shopped ALL day on Wednesday, went to Starbucks to check my e-mail and work some, then we went out to eat Wednesday night. We drove home Thursday and had another great day together. It is fun just being in the car together and having a chance to talk uninterrupted.
David took Friday off and we enjoyed just living on the island. We still have not gotten over the awe of being able to walk out on our back deck and hear the waves. It is hard to believe we have been here for two years -- I think we love it more now than we did when we moved here. We are always discovering something new. Last week, we attended Agatha Christy's production of The Mousetrap - the Amelia Island Community Theatre produced it. It was so neat - we had been told that it was an "intimate" setting, but we had no idea how "intimate!" The audience seated approximately thirty persons and so we were almost right on top of the stage! It was quite a unique experience. We loved it.
Travis and Stephanie came home Friday night and we went to a birthday party for someone from our church. We had a wonderful time just being with friends. Then Saturday, David and Travis watched some football game (I think it might have been the Gators) and Stephanie and I went shopping in downtown Ferndanina -- there is nothing like shopping here! We drove with the top down on the convertible and it was a great day.
David and I went to Patty and Woody's 35th wedding anniversary party Saturday night at Maggioni's at St. Johns Town Centre. It was so much fun seeing old friends that we had not seen in years. We reflected much...and the end result was that we know that the Lord has been good to us -- how blessed we are!
David had to go into work Sunday morning and then he met me at church. David's work has been a little stressful (actually, a lot stressful) but we refuse to dwell on the negatives. I played the piano for both services Sunday morning. Allison gave me a crash course in playing chords for the praise portion of the service and she must be a good teacher because it went fine. I'm playing about once every couple of months and I am enjoying serving in that way. After church, we walked to our favorite restaurant, The Marina, for lunch. It was a beautiful day.
We had a special guest singer in our service Sunday night and what a blessing she was! We thoroughly enjoyed her and her testimony was wonderful.
Shane preached yesterday at his church. We are so proud of what God is doing in his life and ministry. Only wish we could have been there to have supported him, but we prayed for him and so we did have a part in it, only if it is eternal...
Well, that's it for last week and weekend, as well as for my first blog. This is kinda fun! I guess our highlight for the week was seeing Seth, Kallie and Luke's Halloween pics and Hannah's pumpkin pic. The Lord is Good, His Faithfulness is Everlasting, and His Truth Endureth to ALL generations - to God Be The Glory! Life here on earth can't get much better than this.
Love,
Diane
